Athena Awards Finalist – A Milestone Worth Celebrating

ATHENA AWARDS FINALIST
We are delighted to share some very exciting news!
Our Director, Sarah-Louise Hay has been named a finalist in the Athena Awards, just one year after establishing Hay House Financial Services.
The Athena Awards celebrate the incredible women entrepreneurs and leaders making a significant impact within Aberdeen’s business community. The awards recognise their achievements, champion women in business and aim to inspire others by creating a more inclusive and supportive environment in which women can succeed.
For Sarah-Louise, being selected as a finalist represents much more than a business achievement. It marks an important milestone in a personal journey that has taken courage, determination and an enormous amount of self-belief.
From Taking Back Control to Building a Business
Five years ago, Sarah-Louise found herself at a point in her life where she had very little control over the decisions she was able to make for herself.
Rebuilding that independence started with seemingly small things — learning to make her own choices, trusting her judgement and rediscovering the confidence to decide what she wanted from her life. Over time, those small decisions became bigger ones.
She took back control of her future, rebuilt her confidence and eventually took the leap of faith to establish her own company.
Now, just one year into running her own business, she has been recognised as an Athena Awards finalist.
Celebrating the People Behind the Journey
Building a business may begin with one person’s idea and determination, but very few journeys happen entirely alone. For Sarah-Louise, reaching this milestone is also an opportunity to recognise everyone who has supported her along the way — through the difficult moments as well as the successes.
“To every single person who has supported me, encouraged me, believed in me, helped me, listened to me, pushed me and celebrated the wins with me — thank you. I genuinely couldn’t have got here without you.”
Whatever happens at the awards, becoming a finalist is already an achievement worth celebrating.
It represents not only what has been accomplished during the first year in business, but just how much can change when you find the confidence to trust yourself and take control of your own future.
From having no control over her life to taking control of her future and building something of her own…. What a journey and one that is only just beginning.
